Glenhaultin, built between 2009 and 2010 has been designed from the very start by it's Owners to be a luxury Bed & Breakfast. The site Glenhaultin sits on lends itself very well to this purpose as there are some stunning views, especially at Sunset.

Glenhaultin is a Low Energy House, water and space heating being provided by a Ground Source Heat Pump which converts warm fluid in hundreds of meters of pipework buried in the surrounding land into High Grade heat for use in the house. Proudly, this along with other energy saving measures and being Super-Insulated really does give Glenhaultin Green Credentials. In fact, combining this with Under-Floor heating pipes means a lot less energy is used as the Under-Floor pipes only require water to be heated to less than half that of a conventional Radiator system, further enhancing the energy saving measures already in place.

Indeed, further expansion into the Energy Saving and Green Improvements have already been started and built into the house at the time of the House build by installing a Solar Coil Hot Water Tank to Operate in tandem with the Ground Source Heat Pump. Along with having pipework run to the roof for added Solar Energy, the rear roof of Glenhaultin faces an optimum direction for Solar Gain.

Situated 7 minutes drive from Portree, the principle town on the Isle of Skye and half a mile from the Portree to Uig main road ensures our Guests have a relaxing peaceful stay. Glenhaultin Sits below the Trotternish ridge and the rear of the Old Man of Storr hill is easily recognisable. The Trotternish Ridge is accessible for walkers and climbers, whether experienced or not, although care should always be taken as there are rivers to cross, rocks to climb and the terrain is very undulating. The Ridge is Approximately a 4 mile hike from Glenhaultin. Once on the ridge though, a look at the views around 360° are breathtaking. Although Skye is the largest and most northerly Island of the Inner-Hebrides, anywhere on Skye is actually within 5 miles of the sea. Pack Lunches and weather forecast are available with 24 hours notice.
